Little Retro Aprons by
Cindy Taylor Oates.
Aprons have gone beyond their original purpose to
become a fashion statement. In this book you will find
a variety of aprons that will have your favorite child
ready for cooking, gardening or any other messy
activity. Or just for a fun look with jeans and a
T-shirt. And don't be afraid of spills because they are
quick to make and when one wears out ... you can just
make another. Use holiday prints to make an apron for every occasion. Embroider a name or "Chef' to add a personal touch. And don't forget the boys. There are many theme prints that would make a great apron for your little guy. |

making matching aprons for all the women in your
family? It would be such fun for everyone to wear one
the next time you are all together for a gathering that
involves cooking. (As most do.) In fact, you could make

"Pajama Party" by Cindy
Taylor Oates.
Wouldn't you just love to have a new pair of pajamas
made from your favorite fabrics ... no matter how crazy
the print or color combination? Now is your chance.
Quilt stores are full of great fabrics that are not
only beautiful to look at, but are great to wear
because they feel so silky soft even though they are
made of cotton. Or you could opt for a pair made from
cozy flannel. You may not be going to a pajama party
but it would be fun to wear your new pajamas to your
next all night sewing class or quilting retreat. And
don't forget to make a pair to give as gifts to your
favorite friends or family. As always, full sized
patterns are ready to trace and detailed instructions
will take you step by step through the design and
construction of each project. Have fun!

"Crafty Bags" by Cindy
Taylor Oates.
This is like getting three different books in one.
First are the fabric "collage" bags. These are
medium-sized quilted, tote bags made from an assortment
of fabrics. They are the perfect excuse to show off
some of those great fabrics you have been collecting!
Second are the little oval-shaped fabric purses.
Wouldn't it be fun to make one of these to match a
special out-fit? And third are the collage bags made
from paper covered with iron-on vinyl. The
possibilities for these are limited only by your
imagination. I cannot wait for you to get started
making these bags. There are fourteen different bags
from which to choose and they are all fun to make. Now
get started and have fun!

The Big Shirt by Cindy
Taylor Oates.
After being discontinued for several years, The Big
Shirt is back by popular demand. This classic
almost got a new name, "The Boyfriend Shirt"
because that is what is in all the magazines and
catalogs this year but I didn't want things to get too
confusing. Nothing has changed about the pattern
itself. Just improved directions, new samples and the
addition of a cute ruffled version shown on the back
cover. While this shirt looks great using a mix of fabrics, it is also a great basic shirt that you can use to show off your embroidery. Put the embroidery on a pocket or on the whole front of the shirt. And most of all...have fun! |

Shaggy Bags by Cindy
Taylor Oates.
The idea for this book came about when a friend of
mine, Nancy Eshelman, showed me a quilt she made using
this technique. It was beautiful and immediately a
light bulb went off in my head. I thought this would be
a great technique for bags...and it was! The first bag
I made was just flat, without a side gusset. It was
cute, not quite right. On my second attempt I added a side panel, heavy interfacing along the upper edge and a lining with two pockets. One pleated pocket for a cell phone or camera and a pocket with a zipper for extra security. These pockets are a feature of almost all the bags. Most also have a magnetic closure. My thinking is if I am going to spend the time to make a bag, I want it to have the features I really need. I really love the way the shaggy seams add a fun design element to these bags. As another option...you could instead bind the edges. Happy sewing! |

Mother and Daughter
Aprons by Cindy Taylor Oates.
What could be more fun than matching mother &
daughter aprons? Maybe grandmother and granddaughter
aprons! Whether the daughter is pint-sized or fully
grown, aprons are fun for everyone and there are plenty
to choose from here. You'll find the modern looking
halter apron, the traditional bib apron and two half
aprons. Got a big family reunion or holiday gathering
coming up? I suggest the bound edge apron because it
goes together so quickly, you will want to make one for
each kitchen helper. Even if you don't cook, an apron
hanging in your kitchen will make everyone think you
do. Happy stitching! Sizes S-XL Adult and 4-12 Child. |

gifts or even sell them to earn a little extra
money. Projects include mitered edge napkins, placemats, market totes, dish towels, tea towels, plastic sack holder, coasters, utility aprons and a roomy tote. You will also find tips on stenciling, embroidery and making things in multiples to get the best use out of your fabric. |
