Hot Iron Transfer Patterns were first made in 1879, and
continued to be popular with hand embroiderers until the
mid- 1950s. A vast array of subject matter was covered,
and the artwork was designed to be transferred as line
art to fabric. These monogram designs were available in
the 1930s. We have digitized separate colors for each
portion of the design, but this also looks stunning done
white-on-white. The letters are raised satin stitch, and
the display border with decorative bow is done in satin
stitch, accented with French knots

This two-color letter style is a recreation of a style
from the late 1930s.The background shading is composed of
overlapping satin stitches, and the letter itself is a
thin satin stitch - this style is equally elegant on
linens in colors or tone-on-tone. Several of the letters
were pictured in a 1938 article in "House Beautiful", and
from those we were able to imagine the rest.

| Triangle Monogram Set 1 | |||
|---|---|---|---|
![]() |
Taken from artwork from the 1930s, this is a classic
three-letter triangle monogram style - the type that
would have been found on fine linens or the linings of
luxurious fur coats. The set includes left, middle and
right versions for each letter. There is a separate
design for the two corner details, and a running stitch
triangle outline to help with prefect placement of the
parts. The letters and corner details are digitized in
satin stitch with plenty of underlay for a traditional
rounded appearance. The letters can be used without the
corner details if you wish.
