AMERICA: from the Heart by Karey Bresenhan.
AMERICA: from the Heart was an incredible, spontaneous exhibit of quilts made in response to the events of September 11, 2001. It shared a message of sorrow, unity, and hope from quilters all over the world.

These quilts are truly works from the heart, created in the six weeks following the terrorist attacks as an expression of the artists' immediate, agonized feelings. Houston's International Quilt Festival served as the setting for this heart-wrenching exhibit.

Now the quiltmakers of AMERICA: From the Heart share their work with you in this full-color exhibit catalog. Their quilts are both moving and a true declaration of America's strength and patriotism.
  • A Images of 270 quilts with heartfelt statements from the quilters who created them.
  • A Foreword by Karey Bresenhan, founder of Quilts, Inc. and organizer of International Quilt Festival.
  • A C&T Publishing and Quilts, Inc. are proud to donate all profits from sales of America from the Heart to the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund.

The Quilts of Atlantis by Jason Yenter.

I have always had a fascination with the legend of Atlantis. The first collection of fabrics I designed, in 1997, was called Atlantis - The Lost Fabrics, and now I have gone back to further explore this mysterious city.

This time around I wanted to focus on the sea life that may now inhabit the ruins of Atlantis. Fish, turtles, sharks, manta rays, jellyfish, and maybe even a mermaid or two. Bright colors glow next to rich blues, and graceful organic elements play off geometric angles.

I really enjoyed designing the quilts for this book. The quilts are a fun combination of kaleidoscopic elements, curves, and fabrics that have a beautiful glow. I hope you have fun with these new designs and feel free to make changes while creating your own legendary quilt.

Enjoy! - Jason Yenter

Quilts of a Winter Menagerie by Jason Yenter.

I like to start with a theme whenever I sit down to design a new collection of fabrics and quilts. When it comes to winter there are so many possibilities, but when I came across a bunch of pictures of animals in the snow, I knew just what I wanted to do.

My winter menagerie of frolicking animals takes place in a magical forest of beautiful trees and sparkling snow. I like to think of all the animals working together to prepare for a giant winter festival to be held on a crisp clear night with a sky full of bright stars.

The quilts in this book can be used to decorate your home for your own winter festival. Each one would make a dramatic wallhanging in a living or dining room. Create some matching pillows, placemats, or tablecloths, then invite some friends over to share the beauty of your home and the magic of the season.

Enjoy! - Jason Yenter
